The scene: Nat is over at her mom and step-dad's for a Sunday barbeque
Nat: You two should get a dog. I like other people's dogs.
Mom: Well, I like other people's kids. You should have a baby.
Nat: Umm...touché.
That's all I've got today so I'll leave you with this song that I'm currently in love with. It woke me up one morning on the radio and I was happy for the rest of the day.

Thanks for that song. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad my mom never thought of that one. She just got the cat when I suggested it, and skipped the kid thing.
ReplyDeletebtw, this in't really related to this post, but tonight I just watched some old home movies with my Mom, who is out of the hospital after a knee replacement (Super 8, not video or DVD or other such modernistic bumpf) and I made a startling realization. I wasn't fat. Oh sure, when I was under 10 years old, I was put on a diet because I was overweight, but I always pictured myself as being something other than what I was. Early impressions are a pain in the ass.
I know it's cliché, but we tend to be our own worst critics, don't we?
