Down with April

April is the cruelest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.

- from The Wasteland by T.S. Eliot

T.S. didn't like April much. Me neither. I will now remember it as the month in which I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Good thing it's May now. Can we just skip April next year?

  2. I have been trying to come with something both compassionate yet slightly witty here, but the Big C's a toughie. Having done cancer research for nearly a decade, I can still barely wrap my mind around it. But nearly everyone I know who has had it (and unfortunately, that's not a small number of people) has gotten better. So please be one of those people.

  3. I agree. Fuck fucking April!

And EJP, in you not knowing what to say, you came up with one of the most loveliest things you could possibly say. My boob thanks you for all the time you've put into cancer research, and I will try my fucking goddamned hardest to be one of those people that gets better. You have my word on that.
